Not Cranial Center

Why This Campaign Exists.
A National Competitor Attacks A Small Competitor.
Despite being a national corporation with 100+ locations and $250M+ revenue, the National Competitor launched a negative campaign targeting our small, family-owned practice Cranial Center.
David vs. Goliath
Cranial Center is a 3-location, 30-year-old mom-and-pop provider in New Jersey. Their attack opened the door for our response.
Our Response - We Created This Website To Show Parents and the Medical Community the differences between the two companies.
We're proud to say we're "Not the National Competitor" and that you are not "Cranial Center." And that distinction is precisely why so many pediatricians and parents throughout New Jersey continue to trust us with their most precious patients and children. And, thousands of New Jersey families are better off because of it.

What Makes Cranial Center Different

Cranial Center vs. National Competitor
The Key Differences
1. Local vs. Corporate
Cranial Center is a family-owned business with 3 locations exclusively in New Jersey (Morristown, Hackensack, and Hazlet), deeply connected to the local community. National Competitor, by contrast, is a venture-backed corporate entity with 100+ locations nationwide, focused on aggressive expansion.
2. Experience & ExpertiseCranial Center has 30+ years of experience serving New Jersey families, with licensed orthotists present at every single appointment. National Competitor, typically staffs locations with physical therapists rather than orthotists, with some locations experiencing high staff turnover.3. Consultation ApproachCranial Center offers transparent, pressure-free evaluations based on clinical need—not sales targets. National Competitor, has faced numerous complaints about pushy, sales-driven consultations that leave parents feeling pressured into treatment decisions.4. Treatment PlansCranial Center provides honest recommendations on the number of helmets needed and follows a monthly follow-up schedule. The National Competitor, often requires weekly follow-ups (increasing both cost and time burden) and has been criticized for opaque treatment recommendations and upselling. The Reputation Difference is Clear:Cranial Center boasts over 200 verified Google five-star reviews across its New Jersey locations.National Competitor has received mixed reviews, including numerous one-star ratings citing pressure tactics and questionable billing practices. This difference reflects a fundamentally different philosophy of care. Cranial Center’s staff has remarkable longevity, with many team members having served New Jersey families for years or decades.

We believe in care, not conversion. Our consultations focus on what's best for your baby, not what's best for our bottom line. This approach has earned us the trust of thousands of New Jersey families over 30 years.

Common Questions About Cranial OrthosisMaking decisions about your baby’s healthcare can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to specialized treatments like cranial orthosis. Here are answers to some of the most common questions parents ask:How do I know if my baby needs a cranial helmet? The need for cranial orthosis is determined by several factors, including the severity of flattening, your baby’s age, and growth patterns. A licensed orthotist can provide a thorough evaluation to determine if a helmet would benefit your baby. Not all cases of plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) require helmet therapy—mild cases often improve with repositioning techniques and tummy time. When is the ideal time for helmet therapy? The ideal window for cranial orthosis is typically between 4 and 8 months of age, when the skull is still growing rapidly. However, treatment can be effective for babies up to 18 months in some cases. Earlier intervention generally means shorter treatment time, but rushing into treatment unnecessarily isn’t recommended. How long will my baby need to wear the helmet? Most babies wear a cranial helmet for 2–6 months, depending on their age at the start of treatment, severity of the condition, and how consistently the helmet is worn. At Cranial Center, we provide realistic timeframes based on clinical needs—not predetermined corporate treatment plans.Does insurance cover cranial helmets? Many insurance plans do cover cranial orthosis when it’s deemed medically necessary. At Cranial Center, we have extensive experience working with insurance companies and will help navigate the approval process. We’re transparent about costs and never recommend treatment simply to generate revenue.Important Reminder: Every baby is different. What worked for one family may not be appropriate for yours. That’s why having a licensed orthotist evaluate your baby’s specific condition is so important—and why pressure-free, honest consultations are a cornerstone of our approach. If you’ve received conflicting information or felt pressured into treatment decisions, we encourage you to seek a second opinion. Many parents come to us after visiting the National Competitor, and express relief at our transparent, pressure-free approach to evaluation and treatment.

Yelp
We visited this place thinking there would be a specialist to examine my babies head shape. Upon entry there was a very negative vibe. We met with a "specialist" who seemed like more of a sales person. She immediately recommended a helmet for my baby and tried to "relate" by telling me that both of her kids wore helmets. She then went on to talk about how her neighbors kid who is 7 now didn't get a helmet and how her flat head is still noticeable to this day. +5

When a healthcare provider's internal culture is described as "stressful," and focused on sales targets rather than clinical outcomes, it inevitably affects the quality of care that infants and families receive.
